Plot summary

The film begins with an old man committing suicide from atop a mobile phone tower in Chennai. He is later revealed to be Pakshi Rajan, who was once a respected professor and bird lover. Soon after his death, mobile phones start flying out of people's hands and disappear into the sky, creating panic and chaos in the city. The government calls in Dr. Vaseegaran, a renowned robotics expert, to investigate this phenomenon. Vaseegaran reactivates his android assistant Nila and his old robot Chitti, who was dismantled after causing havoc in Enthiran. Together, they track down the source of the fifth force to a giant bird-like creature made of mobile phones. The creature attacks Vaseegaran's lab and kidnaps Chitti.

Vaseegaran learns that the creature is actually Pakshi Rajan's spirit, who has fused with thousands of dead birds and mobile phones. He wants to destroy all mobile phones and towers in the world to save the remaining birds from extinction. He also reveals that he had killed Chitti's creator Dr. Bohra, who had tried to use his technology for evil purposes.

Vaseegaran manages to rescue Chitti and upgrades him with a new red chip that gives him more power and emotions. He also creates many mini versions of Chitti called Kutti to fight against Pakshi Rajan's army of mobile phones.

The final showdown takes place at a football stadium, where Pakshi Rajan plans to kill everyone using their own mobile phones. Chitti and his clones try to stop him, but are overpowered by his electromagnetic force. Vaseegaran then uses a giant electromagnet to weaken Pakshi Rajan and allows Chitti to shoot him with a special gun.

However, before dying, Pakshi Rajan transfers his soul into Chitti's body and takes control of him. He then tries to kill Vaseegaran, but Nila intervenes and removes Chitti's red chip, restoring his original personality.

Chitti apologizes to Vaseegaran for his actions and sacrifices himself by detonating himself along with Pakshi Rajan's soul.

The film ends with Vaseegaran recovering from his injuries and being honored by the government for saving the city. He also receives a new red chip from Nila, implying that he will rebuild Chitti in the future.
